Carrefour (家樂福)
For purchasing groceries, toiletries, bedding and other essentials, you can take a trip to Carrefour Dingshan Store(家樂福鼎山店), which is 24-hour service. (No.849, Dashun 2nd Rd., Sanmin Dist., Kaohsiung City 807). Carrefour has all the basic items you need for your life on campus. The first floor is mostly food and cooking items (noodles, bread, milk, cereal, etc.) On the second floor you can find toiletries (toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.) along with some clothing, bedding, and cleaning supplies. And on the third floor you can find mostly electronics and some school supplies.
Costco
If you wish to purchase imported groceries and items (such as those from the U.S) Costco can be very convenient. However, to enter Costco, one needs to have a membership card. Application for the card is easy and costs 1200NTD (about $38 USD a year). Costco sells a wide variety of products such as seasonings, cereals, vitamins, frozen foods (eg. Chicken nuggets, tortillas, meats, etc.) in bulk and at relatively reasonable prices.
To get to the nearest Costco, catch the 92 bus in front of the school and ride to the Dashun 1st Rd. stop.
Books
Book Stores
If you are a fan of books, magazines, comics, or manga, there are many bookstores around Kaohsiung. The nearest one called Kingstone can be found across the street from school, directly beside 7/11. Other bookstores include Eslite Bookstore (誠品) (check the FE21 Shopping Mall in Sanduo) and Kinokuniya at Hanshin Shopping Center (Beside Kaohsiung Arena)
Kaohsiung Main Public Library
The Main Library is famous for its green architectural concept and design. It is located within the Asia New Bay Area and officially opened in November 2014. With its rich collection, you can find various categories of books, magazines and journals in English on 5th floor.

MRT: Sanduo Shopping District Station (R8) →Exit 2→Go straight and turn right onto Singuang Road→Walk along Singuang Road for 8-10 minutes→The Library is on the left.
